Coastal Plains Amateur Radio Club was formed in 1978 in Turner County, Ashburn, Ga., by founding members W4PVW Don Dasher, WA4NTF Wayne (Fuz) Tanner, WD4EVD now W4GHW Greg Walls, KF4BI Keith Carter, WD4LYV Wayne Harrell, and KA4DPF now W4KN Bobby Hobby. We soon established the 147.285 repeater to fill a dead spot on I-75 and today covers from Cordele, Ga to Valdosta, Ga from the current repeater site in Sumner, Ga with antenna at 600 ft. Mr. Don and Fuz are deceased now, but their guidance are still very much a part of the club today. We are a club very much interested in all aspects of the amateur radio hobby. After 43 years as amateur radio operator's the founding members are still involved in daily radio activities, including the very first digital mode, Morse Code (CW)mode, including the newest modes of FT8, and FT4. We trust you will like our page, subscribe, and most of all be encouraged to join the hobby of Amateur Radio. You may contact us at (w4pvw79 at gmail.com).
