Established 2012 POTA*413 has been created by N1MFL and KB1VWQ for Amateur/Ham Radio Stations with an interest for PARKS ON THE AIR. This group is geared (but not restricted) for Amateur Stations who reside in the four Counties of Western MA and currently operate or have an interest to operate POTA within municipal, State & Federal Parks... Not only in Massachusetts, but all around the USA and beyond... We created POTA*413 here, to represent the Western MA Chapter of Parks On The Air. The 413 is our area code, for the four counties within Western MA... Having to call it something, we thought the number designation was fitting... It would be really neat to start a movement, where other POTA sections or regions did the same. We could have POTA Chapters all over the Country! IE: POTA*413, POTA*508, POTA*978, POTA*781 and POTA*617 just to name some examples in our State of MA. All Are Welcome.
